Tyler
Wilman
Senior Designer / Brains and Brawn
Don’t let Tyler’s hard jawline fool you; on the inside, he’s full of warm bread pudding. In fact, Tyler spent a good portion of his youth trying to reconcile his reality of being an accomplished jock, and his fantasy of being a malnourished artist. The result is a designer with biceps.
For the past few years, Tyler has been flexing for clients such as the Vancouver International Digital Video Festival, United Jewish Communites, CanadaWide, BC Business Magazine.com, CBC and Mod7. His exhibit and signage design brings style to several streets in Vancouver and his interactive work gets hits around the world.
Tyler gets hot and heavy about type and can be found in the wee hours making eBay bids on various letter press components or vintage comic books. He also takes Industrial Design so personally that he designed and built much of the furniture in his living space. We’re still not sure if he does it for the joy of translating 2D sketches into 3D forms or because he just likes to show off his nice bed. We’ll leave that question unanswered.
In addition to having a couple of provincial rugby titles, Tyler has his Bachelor of Design degree from Emily Carr Institute of Art + Design + Media, a background in interactive design, and an intense passion for photography.
