NEC’s new HYDRAstor server—a disk-based backup and archive solution—offers affordable disk-based data storage to IT administrators.

For most IT administrators, disk-based storage had proven prohibitively expensive. But thanks to HYDRAstor’s revolutionary data deduplication software, repetitive data could be now be eliminated, resulting in a vast reduction of total storage required—up to 20 times less. By managing data more efficiently with HYDRAstor, administrators could now afford to take advantage of the resiliency and scalability of HYDRAstor’s unique grid architecture.

To introduce NEC’s latest tech innovation to the market, we incorporated the simple image of a grid into the logo to represent the underlying building blocks of NEC’s new technology. Then, to represent the product name HYDRAstor typographically, we chose a bold typeface that visually isolated the storage aspect of the product’s name while reinforcing the overall strength and reliability of this groundbreaking product.
