Smilebox Designs

Smilebox is a free online service that allows users to create and share animated scrapbooks, photobooks, slideshows, postcards and e-cards by uploading their personal photos and home videos.

In 2009, JOHNSON’S® partnered with Smilebox as part of a larger multimedia campaign to launch the new JOHNSON’S® Baby Bubble Bath product. In a joint venture like this one, Smilebox’ own team of designers would typically be tasked with designing the multimedia templates, which users would then use to create their scrapbooks, slide shows and other online photo projects. In this case, however, JOHNSON’S® wanted us to step in and create the branded Smilebox templates ourselves.

On behalf of JOHNSON’S®, we designed a bubble bath themed photobook, slideshow, and other visual assets to tie in with the new JOHNSON’S® product release and accompanying Big Bubblin’ Stars video contest on YouTube. We also facilitated the implementation of a Lightbox iFrame that linked users directly to Smilebox and the free JOHNSON’S® designs.

Finally, due to our involvement in virtually all levels of the interactive campaign for the JOHNSON’S® Baby Bubble Bath product launch, we were able to create unique touts for Smilebox that would run across our larger suite of promotional materials.
