Big Bubblin' Stars Contest Channel
To raise awareness about one of their newest products (JOHNSON’S® Baby Bubble Bath & Wash), and to stir up fresh energy among their consumer base, JOHNSON’S® asked us to help them launch a video contest for the baby channel on YouTube (the channel itself was created by B’stro for JOHNSON’S® the year before).The bubble bath-themed contest would call on participants to submit videos of their babies having fun in the bathtub with JOHNSON’S® new bubble bath product. After much creative brainstorming, Creative B’stro proposed the theme “Big Bubblin’ Stars!” and created a fun, bubbly, and unique skin design for the JOHNSON’S® baby channel on YouTube.
In addition to skin design, animation played a major role in our development of JOHNSON’S® Big Bubblin’ Stars contest on YouTube. To spread awareness on our contest throughout the YouTube website, we created an animated in-video ad, which would pop up on relevant videos throughout YouTube to promote the contest. Our work proved well worth the effort: in the first week alone of the contest, our Click Through Rate (CTR) was so unusually high that it spurred YouTube to call our in-video ad “one of the best executed versions of an in-video ad” they’d seen on their site to date.
By the time we announced the contest’s $10,000 winner, our interactive campaign had proven responsible for a 13% increase in sales for JOHNSON’S® Baby Bubble Bath & Wash—during a time when no other JOHNSON’S® Bubble Bath advertising was running in print or on television.
