PHP / Drupal Programmer

Location: San Francisco, CA or Vancouver, Canada (must be able to work in our office)

Description

If your answer to these questions (and to most reasonable requests) is yes, then we'd like to meet you. We're a small (20-ish) group of casual music lovers and constructive dreamers looking for that special someone to help make our online creative sing.

We’re looking for an original thinker who has a passion for building and conceiving creative concepts and user experiences. To work with B'stro you need to be a team player skilled in matching strategic direction with rock solid code and functionality. 

You'll be responsible for taking a completely designed web-system and transforming it into a high performance, scalable, low latency, fully functional, W3C compliant website with a Drupal CMS powering it. It'll need to work perfectly with IE6+, Firefox, Chrome and Safari. Additionally, it will have advanced interactive features using CSS & Javascript. No Flash! You'll also be responsible for making continual improvements to a few key large-scale websites we support for our clients.

Most of our web solutions are built on Drupal, WordPress, and Expression Engine, but we're really looking for someone with deep Drupal experience.

Key Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of Drupal, including:
    • Drupal 6 & 7
    • Pressflow
    • EC2 / S3
    • Popular Drupal modules: Views, Panels, Features, Context, Pathauto, CCK (for d6), Rules, Image Cache, etc..
    • Apache Solr
    • i18n / locale, experience with Drupal translation
  • Expert PHP, MySQL and Javascript skills
  • A thorough knowledge of W3C Compliant HTML & CSS
  • Strong Quality Assurance skills — able to review work and thoroughly test code
  • Ability to translate design files into pixel-perfect websites and applications that work across major browsers and platforms
  • Communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail 
  • Self-driven and self-organized.
  • Able to document your code and programming structure in a concise and easy to understand manner
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent real world experience

Nice to haves:

  • Knowledge of WordPress, Expression Engine, ActionScript 2.0/3.0, ASP .NET
  • Design skills or an appreciation for good design
  • Experienced with multimedia technologies (audio, video, streaming, etc)
  • Understanding of email template creation and cross-browser, cross-platform constraints
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or other campaign management systems
  • Experience with custom Google Analytics and/or Omniture tracking
  • Experience developing applications for iPhone, iPad and/or Android devices

Qualifications

You must have built several web solutions utilizing the Drupal CMS, the larger and more complex the better. We are looking for people with leadership and communication skills to work collaboratively with clients and creative team members. You will be expected to work within budgets, juggle multiple tasks under pressure, articulate your ideas and meet strict deadlines.
